Monitoring and management of human flows in tourism destinations

A holistic approach prototype for tourist destination management addressing the problems of overtourism, targeting avoidance and prevention. Recording and processing of data streams from multiple digital sources (sensors, cameras, reservation systems and applications, entry control, arrival plan data, etc.) with different spatial (POI, city, area, island) and temporal dimensions (past, present, future), aiming to analyze flows and concentrations at points of interest but also producing predictive data using adaptive machine learning. The system powers an ecosystem of information and decision support applications for tourism entrepreneurs, visitors and destination managers
